From Consulting to AI Agents: How Advancer Is Reshaping Australian Business
When we founded Advancer in Brisbane back in 2015, the business landscape looked very different. We started as a consulting firm helping businesses with growth and HR strategy, scaling operations and preparing for successful exits. Over the past decade, that mission has evolved dramatically and AI has been at the centre of that evolution.
Today, Advancer operates as a dedicated AI agency, partnering with businesses across Australia to build AI agents, automations and intelligent systems that reduce manual work, improve speed and make operations more efficient. The shift from traditional consulting to AI-led transformation was not an overnight decision, it was the natural result of watching technology reshape every industry we worked in and recognising that the businesses which embraced AI earliest would gain the greatest advantage.
Our service offering now spans AI consulting, AI agents, Voice AI, custom AI solutions, AI training and data consulting. Each of these grew out of real client needs. When Bartons Motor Group came to us after we’ve been working with them for 17 years, they needed AI that could actually sell cars, handle thousands of voice-based service calls and build internal AI capability across their team, all in record time. When City Fertility engaged us, they wanted to understand how AI could enhance patient operations, which led to the development of an intelligent chatbot offering 24/7 guidance to patients from the privacy of their own devices.
These are the kinds of outcomes that get me excited about what AI can do for Australian businesses.
It is not about replacing people, it is about augmenting what teams can achieve and freeing up time for the work that requires human judgement and creativity. The companies getting the most value from AI are those that invest in their people alongside the technology, which is why AI training has become such a significant part of what we do at Advancer.
We recently launched a series of free AI Masterclasses for Brisbane-based small and medium businesses. These full-day, hands-on sessions are delivered in small group environments and focus on practical digital capability building rather than theoretical discussion. Participants learn to translate emerging AI technologies into practical tools that improve efficiency, reduce administrative burden and support better decision-making. The feedback has been overwhelming, attendees consistently tell us the sessions are practical, insightful and immediately applicable to their businesses.
We have also built the Advancer Hub, a free AI readiness platform where any business can take a ten-minute assessment to get a personalised AI readiness score. It shows where you stand, what to learn next and how to start using AI safely and effectively. It is the kind of tool I wish existed when we first started helping businesses navigate this space.
Looking ahead, I believe the next wave of AI transformation will be defined by businesses that move beyond basic chatbots and embrace intelligent AI agents capable of performing complex tasks autonomously. At Advancer, we are already building these solutions, and I am confident that the businesses that invest in AI capability now will be the ones leading their industries for years to come.
